The Lotus Esprit was introduced in 1976. The new Lotus wore sharp wedge styling courtesy of Giorgetto Giugiaro, and looked just like the stunning 1972 concept car. Engineers mounted the 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder engine mid-ship, and coupled it to a 5-speed transmission.
The S2 of 1978 brought evolutionary changes such as intake and cooling ducts added behind the rear quarter windows, taillights from the Rover SD1 and an integrated front spoiler.
The S3 introduced in 1981, received a 2.2 L engine. The interior trim was revised which resulted in more headroom and it was equipped the new larger bumpers and BBS alloy wheels. This mature S3 serie is also gaining on reliability and sportiness.
This 1982 Lotus Esprit S3 is a very original model that was dry stored from 1993 to 2018 and has now being fully recommissioned, finished in white with red leather and cloth trim – a fantastic combination!
With only 2 previous owners, a very low mileage of 23787, and considering that the production number was low for this model (732), this makes it an extremely rare example in such an exceptional condition.
