The Citroën CX 25 was launched in 1974 as a large luxury executive model. With front-engine, front-wheel-drive, it came in several variants of body style and engine size with automatic or manual transmission. It was voted “European Car of The Year” in 1975.
The Series 1 models built between 1974 and 1985 were characterised by stainless steel front and rear bumpers, hydro-pneumatic suspension, a curved windscreen and a “spaceship” style dashboard with a revolving drum speedo and similar rev counter.
The top-end sports model, alongside the CX Prestige model (we have one of these too!), was the CX 25 GTi Turbo, launched in October 1984. It rated at 122 kW (164 hp) with a top speed of 220 km/h (137 mph) – the first genuinely fast CX model!
The Citroen CX 25 GTI Turbo is a cool series 1 black model with leather interior. It has a genuine 93 989 miles and comes with 14 service stamps from 900 through to 93000 miles. We have the original handbook and wallet as well as numerous receipts, old MOTs, etc.
