1951 FORD SHOEBOX CUSTOM HOTROD**CHEVY **HOT ROD **SLED** AMERICAN CAR
Ford started the production of this ;odel in 1949. Popularly called the “Shoebox Ford” for its slab-sided, “ponton” design, the 1949 Ford is credited both with saving Ford and ushering in modern streamlined car design with changes such as integrated fenders and more. This design would continue through the 1951 model year, with an updated design offered in 1952.
The 1951 Fords featured an optional Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission for the first time. All 1951 Fords sported a new “dual-bullet” grille and heavy chrome bumpers. Ford also added a new “turn-key” ignition and front suspension is independent coil springs.
This 1951 model is De-Chromed, has a detailed 327 small block Chevy and 2 speed power guide. It has been fitted with disc brake conversion and has had new inlet manifold new mooneye lake pipes just fitted.
It has shaved handles, giving it a very slick look, Appleton lights, visor and Cragar ss wheels.
Good clean interior and roof lining.
